This may be of interest to fastback owners, after the cars where fitted with a steering lock the original place where the ignition barrel was was just fitted with a blanked plate , now times have moved on and these days we have sat nav, mobile phones etc and it just so happens that if you buy one of the cigarette lighters with a Sunbeam badge on e-bay for around a tenner and pop out the blanking plate the cigarette lighter is a perfect fit which means that you can connect your sat nav or phone (with bluetooth earpiece of course because us SROC members are safety concious responsible citizens!!)without having a wire from the cigarette socket in the centre consule all the way up to the dashboard getting in the way of the gear stick, also if you (like me) are a smoker it's handier than the one in the centre consul and finaly it looks like it should be there, much nicer than a blanking plate adding one more knob to the already wonderful dashboard,if I could figure out how to upload a picture of mine I would and you would see what I mean with the Sunbeam badge being the icing on the cake.
Well I said when I knew how to upload some photo’s I would, as I said it looks like it should be there and much better than a blank plate and has practical uses,

The wiring was quite interesting, I wanted a 13 amp fuse for a 12v electric kettle so lets see that’s watts x amps = volts so a simple bit of algebra – 12v & 13 amps = 0.9 watts er ?? mmm, then there’s the wiring - lets see it’s old to connect to new so that’s brown to red and black to green and blue to er’ bits and pieces. Then I had a brainwave and called an auto electrician who came and sorted out the cigarette lighter and also fitted a little switch for the electric ariel and as I had done the spade work only charged me £25 and at least its done properly!

I used mine for a switch for some intermittent wipers. But I like your idea better.

Upload the picture to photobucket or another photo hosting website, you then need to copy the image linking from that side (should look like this, [...IMG]http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q252/kaptainjimmyladd/large_brewster.jpg[/IMG...]) and then paste it in when you make a reply on here and the picture will display.

Watts = Volts x Amps

So 12v at 13amps is 156 watts. That's a bit less than 4 headlights on full beam.
