Missed a cone on one of the later tests which denied us a class win but still managed to finish 10th o/a I bent the alloy handbrake lever and the engine used 2 litres of oil and was smoking quite badly
The next and last event for this year is this weekends Solway classic just hoping the engine holds out as its starting to misfire on idle due in part to total lack of compression on number 3 cylinder !
Yep.... I'm not sure I'd have the bottle to spend so much time restoring a car and then thrash the hell out of it in competition. Keep the pics coming.
Building the 'Mark II' fastback Rapier ('Arrocuda').
Its holding up very well as it gets used pretty hard, the engine is the only thing letting it down,I need to get the Holbay rebuilt but not sure who to entrust the rebuild to...
it does get plenty of attention I have taken it to a few local classic meets people love to tell about the fastback/H120/hunter/gls they had years ago :)
Then did the devils tour '85 last sunday, the 165 mile non competitive route followed the 1985 motoring news btrda road rally round (night rally) which started and finished near Kendal and looped the dales past tan hill and barnard castle before returning via Kirkby Stephen and leases ford to the finish at the heaves hotel near Levens
Been a bit busy of late but here's a few pictures from the last two events
The Berwick classic rally in may and the Lake district classic at the end of June the car is getting some upgrades at the moment with the rear springs stiffened and decambered and a new thicker front anti roll bar being bespoke made
