Hi Fred. I have not got a definite answer for you , but I am sure somebody on this forum will have. There are a few issues that might come into play , and I am open to correction . Here are the issues I can think of : The later model engines are fitted at an angle, and this might affect the fitting of later gearboxes because of the bellhousing.I fitted a synchro box to my 1960 Ser 3 and 1725cc engine straight out - I think both came out of a Humber sceptre- with no problems, but the Hunter is a later model and the engine lies at an angle as far as I know. Also there are different clutch and pressure plate combinations , 71/2 and 8" , and different splines ( fine splines 25 and 11 spline if I remember right )Seeing that you are fitting a better box you may as well fit the best of everything, which I can't accurately help you with but I am sure there are guys on this forum that have the knowledge. Cheers, Jan.
