Posted - 14 May 2013 : 07:47:52 Hi guys. I replaced the original 1600 engine with a 1725 in my ser 3. I am not sure whether I am using the correct dipstick for the 1725 engine , I only had this one. Can someone please verify whether this is the correct dipstick. The total length from the bearing surface on the block to the bottom end in the sump is 236 millimetres.

Posted - 17 Jun 2013 : 07:01:44 We had a tech tip in our newsletter on this.
If the engine comes from a Hunter you do need to modify the dip stick, because the motor in the Hunter is leaned over.
No modification is needed in a Rapier Fastback.
The measurements are:
22.3mm and 24.8mm.

Posted - 16 May 2013 : 09:17:09 Ahh - no that one I don't know. It must make a few millimetres different as Hunter engine leans towards the dipstick.
What we need is someone with a Series V and a tape measure.

Posted - 15 May 2013 : 21:09:42 Thanks 1922, that is a big difference....34 mm Do you perhaps carry knowledge of the correct dipstick for the 1725 straight engines and the slanted engines, would there be a difference ?My engine is still vertical as standard in the series Rapiers. |
