Hi, Am I correct in thinking that the fastback uses a Hunter floorpan and steering/suspension?
Do manual cars use the same gearbox tunnels as an auto box version?

What's the interchangeability of Hunter and Rapier parts, I know body panels will differ.
Anyone used any Avenger parts?
Cheers

The fastback was based on the chassis of the Hillman Hunter Estate. The Rapier uses tail lamps and rear valance from the Hunter Estate, the rest of its superstructure is unique.

Rapier running gear was also used in the Humber & Hillman models from the Arrow range although there are some peculiarities.

If you look at some of the specialist part suppliers like speedy spares, the parts list for Hunter will be the one you're interested in.

Nothing at all common with Avenger. Chrysler did not want that at the time and I believe, if stories are true, that they wanted to side-line the Rapier and concentrate on 'their' Avenger, not a Rootes car!
1922 has put an Avenger rack onto his, but that took a lot of hard work and trial and error to get it sorted.
No difference in body shape to accommodate auto box.
Engine of Rapier can be tuned nicely with 130BHP achievable and more I think, but you can get a good engine that is better than standard without too much work and that is nice and 'torquey' with say 15/20% additional power.
