I have late Haynes Manual which shows wiring for HRW on GLS Hunter. Green from fuse side to switch. Other side of switch with 2 wires - both White/Black - one going to warning light which is earthed and the other (White/Black) going to the screen element, with other side of element of course earthed via black wire. |

Hi, i have a 1975 Rapier with heated rear screen. If it stops raining in the next couple of days i will take the switch panel off and photograph it. |

I've looked at both Haynes and the workshop manual, both diagrams are the same. Neither have any reference to the rear screen heater and some of the wire colours I'm sure differ to mine. For instance I have a purple wire which I'm pretty sure is for the cigarette lighter and yet the diagram shows a brown wire!
Haven't been back to the wiring since Friday, I've made use of the dry weather to get the car outside and carry on with other jobs.

It's the whole loom you've got there is it J? I had the complete loom out of my 1969 H120, but that's gone off to Banbury, but it did not have luxuries like HRW'S! However, if it would help to identify colours I can find it next visit. Are you using WSM or Haynes manual for wiring diagram? G |

I know how you feel....I fitted a new fuse box and had to trace several wires because of similar problems, the good thing is that the loose and hot connections will all be sorted in the end though . |

Sadly the labels on my wiring have faded to theppoint where many of them are now unreadable. To add to the problem some of the wire colours don't match what is listed in the manual. I shall probably need to ask several related questions over the next few days, in the meantime, if any fastback owners with the heated rear screen could take some photos of the switch panel and wiring it would be much appreciated,or a wwritten description if easier.
Thanks
