Good news, I was starting to think it sounded dizzy related!
I had a look in the manual yesterday to send you the wiring diagram but it is chassis number related for the rapier. I can still send a copy if you need it.

Just to let you know ive sorted the spark problem, the wire on the points had freyed so much even though it looked connected it was actually broken, replaced it all and now got a good spark! |

Yes the original solenoid is on the car but weve changed it over to one with a push button on as there is no ignition barrel or key with the car to turn it over with, do i need to use the orginal solenoid? I thought that would only be used for the starter and is irrelevant for getting a spark? |

Have you got a starter solenoid? Going from memory I think the battery + goes to the solenoid.

hi all, ive just signed up to this forum hopefully to get some answers that have been troubling me and my dad for a while now!
we recently aquired the car with very little wiring loom left and have spent the last couple of days trying to get it running, we've got it turning over but we cant get a spark whatever we do!
we've got good earths from the engine to the body onto the battery, and a live from the +battery to the +coil, with the main HT lead from the coil to the distributor but this lead seems to be putting 12v out constantly, is this right?! we've tried wiring the dizzy straight to the +battery and from the +coil but still nothing, is there anyone that can help? or maybe even a wiring diagram to work from?
tried 2 different coils aswell.
thanks in advance, Bert
