Hi My previous Sunbeam Rapier Fastback was L reg and was registered in April 1973 but came off the production line at Linwood on the first shift back after New years Eve in other words January 2nd 1973.
The DVLA ruled that as my Rapier was not built before midnight December 31st 1972 then it didn't qualify for historic vehicle status and was therefore not tax exempt.
I sold that Rapier in October 2009 ( not for that reason ) but now have my "K" reg 1971 Alpine Fastback. Up yours DVLA

Does anyone know the chassie number run of the last Jan 1973 car off the line to work out if a car is tax exempt or not? I know you cant always go on its registerd date as cars used to sit around a while before being registered. Anyone help?
