Hi Tom,

I am glad to read that your Rapier is performing better now.
Indeed the Webcon conversion includes a K&N airfilter, so it is not surprising that you noticed the difference!

Regards,

Peter

Thanks for the info Peter, I re jetted the carb a few weeks ago and it lis much much better. I initially used the standard air filter arrangement but it didnt perform too well, so I fitted the K and N and that made quite a difference. Using the car nearly every day and the MPG isnt too bad either!

Thanks again, Tom

Hi Tom,

The jetting in my Weber 32/36 DGV5A is based on the special inlet manifold which is designed by SAOC and Webcon. So be aware of the fact that the results might be different if you use the standard Rootes manifold.
Here it is:

Primary jet: 140, Secondary jet: 135
Primary air correction 165, Secondary air correction: 160
Primary idle jet: 52, Secondary idle jet: 50
Primary emulsion tube: F6, Secondary emulsion tube: F6

Regarding the wiring diagram you asked for in another topic you can find it in WSM 124.

Regards,

Peter

I have since fitted my weber on the sunbeam inlet manifold and the car now runs ok ish, there is a dip in power if you accelerate too quickly.

So if you could find out what jets I need Peter that would be a great help.

Hi Tom,

I have done the Webcon conversion on my Rapier series 4. This conversion includes a new special inlet manifold, a 32/36 Carburettor,a plenum, a K&N airfilter and a new connection from the gaspedal to the carburettor. This conversion can be bought from Jerome Senn who is not only a Webcon dealer but also a prominent member of SAOC.
Of course you can also do what you have in mind and just place the 32/36 carburettor in the existing manifold. In this case the jetting from the Webcon conversion is not going to help you.
But if you still would like to know what jetting is used in this conversion then just let me know.

Regards,

Peter

Hi there,

Just thinkinging about carbs for the series 4, toyed with the idea of twin su's on a alipne manifold. But I have discovered I already have a weber 32 36 buried in the shed which looks like it will directly replace the old solex. Has anyone ever fitted one or have any knowledge of such a conversion? I am guessing it will need new jets, but I dont know where I would get them from.

Any info much appreciated,

Tom.
