Hello bud, i guess im trying to catch up with everyone. Sorry ive been away for a while, but hopefully ill check in more now.
It really is sad when these antiques go into disrepair, but having killed 2 and scraped them i really cant comment - sometimes its just not possible to do any better i guess.
Anyone going to the NEC? im thinking about it, but havent decided. Also whats the plan with the bath and west in spring? Hope alls well and your now enjoying your fbk that youve abviously restored now??

Yes I have booked the club stand as usual for next year. We know we have room for 3 cars and I have already had the offer of a recently restored series car for the stand.
Need to get some decorating out the way (to keep the wife sweet) and then I will have a last push to try and get mine all finished in time.
Will finalise the cars nearer the time.

Must have been a pretty rare Audi if they couldn't find one locally. What's the story behind it Glen?.... and did you bring back any pics?

Well, I had one of only 2 B1 (Fsacelift) Estate's known to have survived. (One in Audi's own museum) Didn't make it worth loads unfortunately. They did not make them for the German market; hence the rarity out here. Really they were just a Passat in drag. Will post a couple of pics (if allowed on a rapier site ) when I get back. Cheers for your interest. G. |

All cars, mainly from the 60's to the 80's interest me. Just have a passion for coupes that's all. Must give you a bit of a buzz to know that it's gonna be looked after though. I worked for the VW/AUDI dealer in Rochdale in the late 70's when this model was current. Don't remember seeing an estate one, although the saloon (Audi 80) was a big seller. The job didn't last long, as I recall, cos I smacked the Sales Manager.... but he had it coming.
You know... at first glance the front end resembles a Chrysler Avenger.... if it wasn't for the Audi OOOO logo. Never noticed that before.
