On the cars built for the British market it's stamped on to the VIN plate which is riveted to the top of the upper front cross-member. When you lift the bonnet you can see the VIN plate to the left of the bonnet release mechanism. As far as I'm aware LHD models are same... maybe Thomas can confirm that is case.

Ok as far as I have looked this seems to be removed on mine !, will check the other shell if this is still there hopefully. Also I think that mine have been for the UK market as here in Malta we use the UK driving system.

Is there a chassy number punched somewhere else or is it just the vin plate that identifies this vehicle ?

When car builders changed over to monocoque (unitary body/chassis) they stopped the old practice of punching the numbers on to the chassis member in favour of the VIN plate. The Chrysler VIN plate on mine is definitely punched but I believe not all manufacturers did this. Certainly, on cars from 1980 onwards the process of stamping the number on to the plate had mostly died out.

Yes, LHD models are same..
Here's the confirmation "arrocuda"
Always welcome to ask anything about the LHD cars and fastbacks in general...

I like a car that looks normal but can really knock you off your socks!

I've seen the number stamped on the top of the right hand suspension turret top on a 1975 Rapier.
I've never seen it done on an earlier car.
