I enjoyed the photo's thanks. Your fastback is the right colour and it looks mean and low , and the mags are spot on. I never used to really like fastbacks but the more I see them , the more I like. Cheersd Jan.
Hey guys im really chuffed you enjoyed the pics and like my car, thanks.
Im amazed what a response it has had, all weekend people have been loving it, i even had one guy try to buy it. There are still a few things id like to sort out, before im totally happy, but i guess thats one of the things with owning such an old beast.
Next year i intend to be on the stand again, however this time id like to have more input and hopefully see if we can increase the size of it to allow more fastback on it.
Hope to see you guys in the near future, let me know if theres any events in the somerset area, soon cheers
Great pictures UMU and your car looks superb. I love the low and wide look - how much did you lower the suspension and what size are those wheels and tyres?
Im pleased you like it - i have to admit that when i bought the car it had already been lowered, but from what i can see its had coil overs fitted front and rear as well as blocks to the rear and has been lowered by around 2-3" to the front and 4-6" to the rear. Be aware though that without air suspension which mine doesnt have, you cant take people in the back without the wheels rubbing, but for me thats a small price to pay.
The wheels are only 15"s, with low profile tyres, but fit the arches well
About you don't being able to take to much passenger... My grand dad's fastback had that problem to, the wheels where already in the arches without any passengers and when you had a passenger in the back you had to mind the speed bumps . We fitted stiffer leafsprings (might needed an extra leaf, but can't remember anymore) and it raised the car about 7 or 8 cm don't know how much that is in inch, I think about 2 to 3 inches. But the car doesn't have any lowering blocks sow if you do that with your car it might help... I can't promise anything thow!
I like a car thath looks normal but can really knock you off your socks!
I second that - lowering mine 1 inch (25mm) by fitting uprated springs on the front and lowering blocks at the back was the best thing I ever did. Improved the cornering and stopped the wind blowing me about on the motorway!
