Hi all
The Rootes marque is my favourite brand and although am mostly Hillmans I have two Arrows, a '69 white Rapier and a golden(!) '72 Alpine. The Rapier awaits moderate restoration eg. a trivial bit of bodywork and full re-paint. Also I notice the stitching has pulled in a couple of places - damp climate although a closed garage. To my shame I neglected for a long time to start the engine, now seized and with freeing oil in the bores. The Alpine is interesting in that 1) it is an automatic, a good runner but again needing moderate panel work and a re-spray and 2) the previous owner chopped the roof for a convertible but didn't get as far as re-inforcing the pillars and underside a la Morris Minor but remarkably the doors still close fine even with a load up. If anyone has done this I'd love to know. always interested in sharing tech. (and cheap!) fixes.
TT
