Posted - 20 Aug 2010 : 21:17:13 A little late in posting as the show was on May 1st & 2nd but here we go!
Shared stand with SAOC as usual and our turn to have 3 cars.
David Angel brought his lovely Series II convertible and went home with a rosette for Best Classic Convertible. He also had a pre-restoration convertible on the stand for people to see the before and after (although the prize winner is mostly original).
Making up the trio was Esther Balme and her recently acquired fastback, or George as he is now known in honour of the previous owner.
Infact it was quite a 12 months for George (the car) as it was the 2009 BCCS that George (the person, not the car) came to the club stand to say hello and tell us that he had a fastback rapier in his garage that had been in there since the early 90's and that he had made the decision to sell.
I said I was happy to go and have a look and help George to sell his fastback. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it, looking very clean and tidy. I advertised the car for George and before long Esther was showing an interest and lo and behold, after turning down a capri, she fell for the charms of George and his fastback!
So off went George (the car not the person) to a new home in Devon and after a little bit of TLC over the next few weeks was road legal again. I asked Esther if she would like to show George at Bristol and she was only too happy.
So here's a few photo's from the show;
Also on display on a Triumph stand (helping a friend out) was this nice series V, I do have the owners details somewhere but can't find them!!
