Posted - 06 Aug 2014 : 20:28:34 Looking good Jan!!
I've recently replaced the oil ring, not a problem there.. even if it doesn't seem to be badly flattened it will fail.. We just bought a general replacement with the right dimensions and the oil leak had disappeared!

Posted - 06 May 2013 : 11:47:16 tell you what ...say I had 2 million pounds spare... My dream car would be to put a tiger engine in my ser 3, the latest tech diff, gearbox and suspension and all that goes with all that - like top mags, low and wide as can go, best leather interior with all the bells..I would pop it in a Hercules, ship it over to you guys on this forum and ask you's nicely to make it over for me....would that be cool or what ... |

Yes; second that 100%. Some remarkable work done and shown on here. I'm OK at patching up and some mechanicals; put's me to shame! Still great there are others more skilled and that they should like Rapier's to boot! |

Posted - 03 May 2013 : 23:05:42 Yes, Jan, I think it is important to do the best possible work on these cars. I have repaired cars mecanic and bodywork for about 30 years. So I hope my car will be as good as possible. I do all the work myself, exept outside painting. My friend is professional and he will do the paint outside my car(cheap i hope). I an wery impressed to see the wery serious restoring on the Sunbeams.

Posted - 29 Apr 2013 : 16:12:09 Hi Gijoe. The engine id 1725ccm. I an building a replica because it is impossible to get a Holbay engine here in Norway. I could buy one from UK, but the postprice is very high. My std engine is in good condition, so I bought piston from USA and the other parts from UK. Now I hope I have a "new" engine. Regards Jan |

Posted - 28 Apr 2013 : 19:21:12 Hello Your engine looks awesome I bet it runs even better, Question 1- you said it was a "Holbay replica engine"are CC's same(1725cc), Question 2- why replicate A Holbay instead of just using a original Holbay. reason is that have a Holbay, I've heard and read nothing but great experiences with this engine. thank you
