Posted - 10 Aug 2011 : 16:54:55 After the best part of 12 years I have finally got my SIV restoration to the point where I plucked up courage to connect the battery.I've gone to negative earth with an alternator, removed the control box, fitted relays for improved headlights, fitted a new battery and a 10 bank spade fuse box. Nothing spectacular happened phew! I've found a few small glitches and the starter will not engage (just spins)I did check it before re-fitting and the brushes etc all seem good,so a bit more investigation is needed. I'll sort out some photos of progress and post them soon.
Regards to all John |

Posted - 11 Aug 2011 : 06:23:16 ! we wanna see them... If you have the invertor type starter it is probably the bendix that is sticky or faulty, easy to strip , or the solonoid is faulty on the other type starter . Cheers Jan. |
