Posted - 11 Sep 2010 : 16:33:13 Following on from from my last thread ( Newbie at 40) It seems more appropriate to post in this section.
Car failed MOT on one small hole and rear of drivers side sill, so deciding to save a few pounds started pulling filler, fibreglass and the odd coke can out of the one corner, then decided to have prod in the passenger side and then the front! Low and behold all four ends have been bodged The crazy thing is that all seams and joins looked factory, would have taken less time and been cheaper to weld it
Rest of underside has been given a 2nd more pessimistic prod and so far seems pretty good.
Good news is I know a friendly welder that likes a challenge and now all for corners (of sills) are sorted with lovely new metal, waxoyled and undersealed. Mot will now be handed over early next week I hope.
Anyway not put off and made a note to self to have a digital camera ready for next episode! |
