i have been searching for some parts for over a year now
to finish the fastback

black carpet
black dash (dont need the instruments)
rear screen seal

would consider a full car for breaking

would swop car and spares for a classic ford / why ? in similar condition

sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand

Ah - it's just an instrument panel that I have.
Best bet is buy one from Glen and get it recovered - it's just thin vinyl over steel and should be easy to re-cover.

Yes, they used to do them: not sure now? Re dash, got 4 or 5 in varying degrees of damage - usually on the corners, but if totally stuck. Yes; echo those thoughts, don't give up - we're all in the same boat at some point with these fine machines, but it makes it all the more rewarding in the end! Honest. Where's the fun in having an MG or Triumph where you can get the lot at a one stop shop!

jpsh120
thanks for the link for coverdale

1922
its the whole vinyl part that covers the whole width of the car
colour is unimportant as jpsh120 says one can spray into the desired colour

i have tons of spares if anyone is stuck for anything

By "dash" do you mean just the plastic panel that holds the instruments or the whole vinyl covered part that is the full width of the car and includes glove box, air vents, instrument panel and demister vents?

Andy, don't give up. Part of the satisfaction when you are finished will be the knowledge that you have had to search high and low for certain parts which in my view makes it much more credible than mg's etc where parts can readily be bought off the shelf.
Have a look at coverdale for carpets they can supply them I think. As for the dash, could you use one a different colour and then use plastic colour spray to make it black?
I presume you have tried Glen for both items?

thanks for the speedy reply

i have seen that the club may be having the screen seals remade thats good news for fastback owners

a damaged dash would be better than no dash !!

tbh i was/am loosing interest in it as i just can't find parts for it which is such a shame as the mrs quite likes the look of it !!

The club are looking into getting some new rear screen seals manufactured. See http://www.sunbeamrapier.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=554

If you can find anybody who sells carpets for a Hillman Hunter - these can be modified to fit. The only difference is the location of the seat mounts for the front seats. I did this twenty or so years ago - found an advert in the back of Practical Classics I think.

Dash - someone might have one. I'll have a look in my pile of bits, I have one but I think it's damaged.
