Posted - 15 Feb 2012 : 14:21:43 I have a new H120 car that came with a spare Gearbox with overdrive. I feel it is for a H120, different gear ratio than the rapier. The gearbox/overdrive looks to be in good condition. The splines are corrosion free and seem to be good. The gear leaver moves freely and goes into gears. the gearbox has been packaged since I bought the car and has been protected quite well. Only having to unpackage for the photos.
As you can see in one of the pictures there is a code, I'm not sure where to find out the meaning of this so if anyone knows, it would be great to know.
I am based in Harrow so if you would like to have a look please feel free to come. I also have loads of other spares that you might be interested in so it might be worth your while.
Such as: Glass, dials, radiator, shocks, sill covers, boxes and boxes full of used spares
Any questions please feel free to get in touch. Cash on collection.
This is also for sale on the bay so have a look at the pics http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNBEAM-rapier-alpine-h120-gearbox-OVERDRIVE-/200714331883?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ebb81a6eb

Posted - 17 Feb 2012 : 19:49:49 Hi, I've not quite proved this beyond doubt, but standard boxes tended to have "6DA 21055' on them, but often the H120 had the same No., but with the prefix '6' ground off. The no. shown in your pic is on the O'drive I think and they were pretty much the same except for possibly a stronger mainshaft?
All boxes had (7)198 1060 stamped on them as well as the month/year in most cases.
Cheers. |
