Well hello. I'm a Brit living in Paphos and I don't own a Rapier. However: I have a Cypriot friend here who has just bought one!

It's a 1969 Rapier automatic, with aircon! It needs a few trim items renewing, but considering it's been laid-up over here for several years, it's survived pretty well. It does start and drive. Andreas has a garage (I shot these pics in his yard) so he will have no trouble doing the work.
We will be looking for the various trim items, and possibly some service items, over the next few months. If anyone can help, please, shout up.

Interior? Like this?

...and these...

These are all the pics I have of the interior at the moment. As you can see, this is the area that really lets the car down. All the vents under the back window, for example, need replacing. The dash isn't very good: you can see the ignition barrel falling out, likewise the choke. I'm sure there should be some sort of seal round the shifter, possibly brush-type? There's nothing now, anyway, whatever it should be.
The engine runs (sweetly, it sounds like it's three years old!) and the car drives. Tyres are shot, but that's no problem. It does need bits of bodywork, but again, no probs, Andreas is a panelbeater and sprayer. He has access to a local trimmer, so some stuff can be remade, like the seats. Roof lining should clean up! All the window rubbers want replacing, ideally. So if anyone can help with any of this stuff.................

As for the Escorts: he has at least a couple of dozen around him! He builds rally cars:

The four-doors, like the brown one, are either parts donors or eventually restored. He has a whole bunch of Minis, Mantas and other rally-friendly cars too. If you saw Rust in Peace in the May PC, those are my pics of his yard.

Hey, where's that one been hiding. As Jason say it looks a good solid one, nevermind the peeling laquer. Yes, see if you can get some more pics in due course: interesting to see how the interior has survived. We'll try and help with parts if he needs anything - postage costs I know won't be cheap, but as a last resort. Not sure what you can still get out there? There is an e-Bayer from Cyprus who has a stash of bits for them... at a price. Cheers for posting. G.

Oh what a difference a warm makes, apart from some lacquer peel she looks a beaut! You can let us know what parts you need through this forum and we will advise you where to get them. Keep us up to date with progress, we like photos!

And tell your friend he might want to sell that mk1 escort in the background, current crazy prices in the UK mean it would probably be worth a few grand!
