I am new to the forum, but not new to the SROC. Back in the late 80s I used to have a rapier fastback which I loved. it was a 1968 model so by 1990 when my wife blessed me with my first child the Rapier was not suitable for day to day usage child seats etc. I eventually put it into storage when it sat for 18 months slowly beginning to rust. I eventually rang Dave Parrott and gave him the car because i could not bear to see it go to banger racing or a boy racer. Since then my kids have all grown up. I have a very boring Citreon and would be very interested in revigorating my love affair with the car of my boyhood. I still have all my old Haynes manuals and the original Rootes workshop maunal which cost me a few bob back then. I saw the H120 on ebay that is in Bristol and seriously considered bidding on it but after reading the "intellegence" on it here I have decided to not get involved, I thank those posting for giving the heads up. I will be looking over the coming year for a good H120 which i can "mother" for the next 20 years as apart for a series 1 Sierra cosworth, its the only car I have truly ever fell in love with. Now i am in a better financial postion to commit to its upkeep i feel I can do the margue more with my commitment and stronger financial postion then i could in my younger days. Are there many Rapiers and H120s left? All the best to all

Hi JP I had been watching it for a few months via his Youtube channel and really liked what i saw. He mentioned there that he wanted £1500 for it because of redundancy. it then appears on ebay with a starting price of £2500! but others here mention it as maybe having some issues. I know whatever i eventually buy will have some problems and thats fine but I want to ensure what i buy I can do total justice for. I think he has a bidder now and wish whoever that may be the best of luck. all the Best Dave

Dave,

Have you seen this one on eBay;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/sunbeam-rapier-H120-/130552593445?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1e658a7c25

It is well known to the club and in pretty good condition I think?

I emailed the guy ( Matt?) selling the 120 on the classifieds a few weeks ago. Sadly it had gone

XJ8, Beach Buggy, ZX9r, ZX6r, BSA Bantam D7 x2 , Gorilla Monkey Bike, Skyteam Monkey Bike , Honda 400/4.....and now I want a H120!

Thanks for the welcome JP and Ian.

I actually saw your Fastback and posted a comment in the spotted section here not knowing who is who is and whether the seller was know here (sorry about that) I used to have a manual identical to yours which is a beauty i have to say. At this time I am really looking for a H120, but if a quality car does not show up as i would guess they are quite rare now being a variant, I will give you a call. I don't live that from from Hemel either. all the Best Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. Great to hear that you are looking to rekindle your love affair with another fastback.
H120's are getting rarer by the day sadly especially ones worth saving (unless you have very deep pockets that is)!

I will probably be selling a very good standard fastback in the next week or two that would make an excellent car with not much effort.

There is an H120 in the classified section that needs a fair amount of work but all the parts required come with the car.

Whatever you choose, good luck.
