Hi. First post. I am the proud owner of a 72 Rapier automatic. It's my daily driver and I love it. My question is, what are the proper "modern" tires for the car? There are 170/70R13s on it at the minute but a mate told me they should be 180s or 185s bur they're dearer. Could someone clear this up please. Cheers.

Went for the 185s. Won't upload photos, something to do with valid characters n file extensions not being accepted.

Hi,welcome to the forum.

Original tyre size should be 165/13.

You can upgrade to wider tyres - 185/70/13. They must be this size to maintain the correct rolling radius.

The 175's you have fitted will be effecting the speedo reading as the radius is too small.
