Five years later I can confirm this car is now in New Zealand but still part of the "SROC" fleet. A report on the work needed to comply with local standards is on it's way to C&T. Although it looked good, as one pointed out, there was considerable hidden rust that had to be fixed. A decent re-spray required a bare metal start, hence the final cost was much higher than anticipated,m but why worry? It is only money and where else can you enjoy 'mobile money' in this way?. regards Brian.

I went to look at this car a couple of weeks ago, mechanically it was excellent, body wise it was solid but in need of a respray, there was a fair amount of bubbling at the rear of the front wings the sill covers were missing, the interior was ok.
I decided against putting in a bid as the car was already on £2600 which i thought was about it's value.
Really nice guy selling it & i think he was pretty pleased that the car had exceeded the reserve.

I see what you mean but there again I could never understand why a 1600 Capri was more desirable than a Rapier apart from to a discerning few who knew better. Also the present economic climate does'nt help. Still as a H120 owner the price is a bit dissapionting but to prospective buyers it's probably too expensive!! Regards etc

Too cheap IMO. How much would a similar age/condition Ford be worth and fastbacks are much rarer.

Just can't get my head round so called "desirability"?!

It went for £2601 which isn't a bad price for a 1970 car.

I used to own that one about 5 years ago. It had been off road for many years. Came form Doncaster & I spent a lot of time recommissioning: incl the home re-spray job . I sold it to a chap in Liverpool & then it turned up in the Midlands. Club member owns it I think. Good sound car, don't know what else has been done to it meantime. Was a Chrysler owned vechicle when 1st registered. Lets see what it does. Cheers. Glen.

It's an pre '74 car with static seat belts. I think he's just hooked the belts onto the grab handle.

Looks good, I just wish I was in a position to buy, which sadly I am not. Looks like its going to be next year for me now......

Looking for a fastback Rapier....

Looks a very genuine example for an Ebay sale. All depends on the reserve I guess. The seat belt arrangement is a little unusual.... spoils the pillarless effect a little for me, but is a relatively trivial thing I suppose.

Building the '2nd series' fastback Rapier ('Arrocuda').
