Golden Sand ? fastback at Anglia Car Auctions Sat 9th of November. Estimate £800 - £1200. Looks reasonably original and un-messed with (bar the wheels and new paintwork to the wings and arches). No doubt a dealer or some kind of 'merchant' will snap it up an bung it on one of the classics sites for £3,500. If its lucky it may even get a blow-over. Anyone know this car WPG 979G ?

Lets hope it doesn't have the same 'dealer' fate as this Dodge Charger LOT PC25. It sold for £8,400 in August. Now look on ebay. He has to be joking, surely...http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic-auctions/results-august-2013.aspx

And on ebay at the moment £20,000. Yes, £20,000 !

That the problem with this hobby at the moment, It's gone mad again, just like in the late 80's. Everything is in a bubble, and every man and his dog want a piece of the action. Lots of 'wheeler-dealers' having a go, chancing it, everywhere.
I may offer him £8,850, Thats the hammer price of £8,400 plus the 5% commission £420, plus £30 quid for his trouble (he has probably valeted it for that), Sounds like a good deal. What do you think ?
Oh, I missed out his £5.00 entry fee. so that's £25 he'll be making...

It should have gone to a good home - it went for £2000 today (not to me) (will be "proper" person not a dealer.)

Need to keep looking....

I'm afraid the 'one' has become unattached...

Good look to anyone going. Hope it ends up in the right hands.

Yes; the one in our classifieds is the same car. £3k did seem a bit steep, but at guide price, even for auto if it is decent and unmolested, then it is worth that sort of money I'd say.
I 'rescued' an Alpine auto many years ago, but due to lack of time and space and some rot in main chassis rails, it got broken. I wish I hadn't now. It did yield a lot of good spares though!
Oh; that one would have the 3 speeder, but not much difference to a later four IMHO.

It looks well worth the money they're talking about, with some stuff that needs sorting (top corner of wing looks like a filled repair that's starting to go again). Has black interior with seat covers, looks like seat covers are just protecting the seats, not there to cover any nasties.

I suppose I could but there are some bits and pieces that would need to be found such as a pedal frame and a clutch master cylinder and reservoir for example. Is not much point figuring out the detail until you know as to whether or not you've placed the highest bid for it.

Although I expect it will sell for a reasonable price being an auto, as most collectors seem to prefer manuals, you can never be sure when a car goes to auction.

And you would also set that gearbox and diff up? I am really interested, it is the colour I had. You can also reply by PM or email.

TBH even with the auto box you would be stealing it away at anything near the top estimated value. I've got a spare 5 speed shifter and a differential here for reasonable money if any one fancies a poke at it in the auction.

Get yer cheque book out Moorsey!!

That crossed my mind also.

Yes, it would seem so; most cars seem to have a variety of pics. Is the n/s and the interior that bad! It is an auto, which strangely they don't mention and has been owned by a club member in that area for many years. Hopefully it will make a fair price. G
