Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone knew for sure if there is any asbestos in the black tar board type of sound deadening/insulation that Rootes used under the carpets in their cars? I ripped the stuff out of my Hillman and Rapier and it never occurred to me but now someone has mentioned that it may actually have some asbestos in it. Before I proceed with my Alpine I thought I'd check and see if anyone else has had this question and gotten an answer.
Thanks,
Alan
ps - also wondered about the thinner black stuff on the transmission tunnel as well.
