I am currently running the fixed fan on my engine which is the original set up. I do however have all the parts needed to convert to the viscous fan but the question is....is it worth doing or should I sell all the parts instead??!

I'd say it is worth 1 BHP. I'd put an electric fan on if you want an extra 3 or 4. I've always run my Holbay with one, but as it hasn't turned a wheel in 14 years it is hard to remember. Certainly if you're going to drive spiritedly it is a lot smoother with no fan on the pulley, but for normal motoring fixed is OK. I did the French trip mentioned elsewhere on here with standard fan and the gauge stayed on 'N' except for heavy traffic when it crept just above, but it was 30 odd degrees C outside. . G
