When having my parts painted I got everything I thought I needed together and had it painted.
After getting it back I wanted to see how some of the parts looked under the car.. When trying the reinforcement bracket that fits behind the gearbox and between the two chassis rails I noticed that there weren't any holes to fit this.
After thinking about it I realized there wasn't one on the car when I took it apart..
So now my question follows, were the earlier cars built without this bracket? (probably)
As I've seen a fastback with a short bracket (about 25" long, just like the one I had painted) and another one on my grand dad's fastback which reached from one side of the car to the other...

Can anyone please shine some brightness on this topic as I can't find anything in my parts manual about all this...
