Reverting the kack-hander back to an Alternator: someone fitted a dynamo previously .
Trouble is the old Alternator was an 17AC with separate rectifier (4TR) on inner wing, but replacement is the 17ACR with rectifier as part of the unit. I think I have to leave one of the connections off, but I can't recall which colour wire is left unconnected.
I could be wrong, but that's what I think you had to do.
Any assistance of course appreciated.
G.

Answering my own post here!
It is straightforward.
Thick brown wire to centre terminal of alt.
Brown/Black thin wire (for warning light) to small termainal.
3rd terminal on alt. not used and neither is Brown/Green wire in loom.
Disconnect multi-pin plug from 4TR box and wrap up any exposed wire/terminals with insulating tape. Jobs a good 'un and it look like the kack-hander will now be back on the road.
