Need a quick check which way round the grey 'fabric' / metal slipper gasket pair goes on the alloy head twin carb 1725. Unfortunately the old ones were thrown away by my friend when we were stripping the engine, but it looks to me like there is a witness mark from the metal slipper 'rings' indented on the intake manifold.

That suggests the grey fabric part goes directly against the alloy head

Can somebody confirm that please? Thanks a lot
Colin

My recollection is steel bit with recesses to carbs & as you say grey asbestos type thing to cyl head.
