Happy new year guys.
Hopefully i'll get to see some of you this year especially if we can get together as many Fastbacks & Series Rapiers as possible at Blenheim Palace on August Bank holiday 2011.

Any way here are a few pictures from SROC rally 2008 to wet your appetite.

Unfortunately there won't be a SROC stand although there will be an AROC stand for all Rootes cars.
The £3 entry fee is for people prebooking a classic car, i think the fee for members of the public is £7.50 ish.
I shall be there on Sunday & possibly Monday.

Hi Dave,

I'm away on holiday that week, but only in Derby so may well be able to escape. I would be especially keen if the paint has hit the rapier by then.

All the best

Paul

Hi Guys
The Blenheim Palace Oxford show is only a matter of weeks away now, being held on 28th & 29th August 2011.

http://www.classicshows.org/blenheim280811.php

If you pre book using the form obtainable in the link above then entry is £3 per car each day and camping is available at £5 per night.

I intend to go on at least one of the days & if others are interested i may attend both days.
As its a Rootes weekend as well it would be nice to get as many Fastback & Series Rapiers together at one location.
We managed to do it at Powderham and the line up looked great.
Blenheim palace Oxford is a good central location for people from the SW SE & Midlands.
The last National rally was held there in 2008.

So come on guys whose up for it?

I really hope so Mike but I am having to replace my daily car so restricted funds may hamper my efforts to get finished in time.

I'm still aiming to be finished in time but I can't for whatever reason then the Blenheim meet would be the perfect 2nd chance!

If a few of us are travelling on the same day we will have to arrange a convoy, that would be an impressive sight!!

I would love to come!!!
Perhaps We will...
It's a rootes day isn't it?

I like a car that looks normal but can really knock you off your socks!

The White fastback H120 pictured had NOS injection fitted and apparently went like s**t off a shovel

At the time i had the Carribean Blue Rapier which won best Fastback Rapier, competition was fierce in the H120 class & i think the lime green one won it.

A few more pics from Blenheim Palace 2008 for you, have a look at this Sunbeam Hunter which was a Canadian export model.

Also this beautiful Hillman Avenger GLS

Nice pics.
I remember going - weather was perfect.
I shall go again - but little chance of being in a Rapier. It'll have to be the Vectra again

Heres a link to the google maps <http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=51.841491,-1.361079&spn=0.008684,0.027788&z=16>

Could be in with a chance to make that one but is a fair way from here so i shall remain non commital. I'm hoping to have it back on the road for August as the car was first registered in August 1971 so would be a good way to celebrate its 40th. It's not a show car so it will always be a 'works in progress' I guess.

Building the 'Mark II' fastback Rapier ('Arrocuda').
