Posted - 02 Mar 2011 : 22:04:26 I've been passed a few Lotus Approach databases from Ron to see if I could access them for any interesting club data.
I managed to access all the files except 1.
The file is password protected. I found a password retrieval program which has given me the password but I am having no luck in importing it into MS Access, says it can't decrypt the file.
Does any out there have a copy of Lotus Smartsuite that I could borrow or perhaps you have it installed and could have a look at the file me.
Cheers
Rog

Posted - 03 Mar 2011 : 10:04:02 I have OpenOffice running on a linux OS here that to date has been able to open everything I've thrown at it. It will even open MS documents that have been encrypted and then allow you to save a copy in either linux (.odt) or microsoft (.doc) file formats. Same with spreadsheet and database applications. Never tried to open a Lotus file with it, but will try if it helps.
Be interesting to see if it can
