Curious to know how long our rapiers have been in our lives and any other interesting facts?

For example, BJU was first registered on 19/11/1971 and yours truly was born 19/11/1975, it was meant to be!!

And I forgot to clarify (despite it being the main point of the post!) that BJU was bought by Dad in 1979 so really I have no memory without the car being there!

I bought first Wardance Red Rapier in 1986 when I was 19. It was registered 20/11/1973. It was my only car until about 2002 - I reckon that I've done over hundred thousand miles in her, though I've replaced so many bits that probably only applies to half the shell and none of the mechanical bits!

My second Rapier (the blue one) was registered 01/12/1968. I aquired it just a couple of years ago (not sure exactly when). But I've known the car much longer, around twenty years or so, as it belonged my good mate "Argonaut". I've been a passenger in this car many times (in Hamburg, Cologne and Malmo) but never yet driven it on the road. While Argonaut had the car I've helped with welding, rebuilt the front suspension (spax shocks and lowered) and various other jobs - so it feels like an old friend that has come to stay. For quite a few years this was Argonauts only car and did thousands of miles around Europe, but now it's going to be weekend and sunny day car and will one day be blatting around Norfolk's country lanes at unlikely speeds
