Hi all,

I thought it may be of interest to anyone thinking of ordering body panels from the above that I my experience the delivery dates stated in the catalogue are unrealistic. Rear quarter panels took 11 weeks and front wing rear section panel has still not arrived after 15 weeks.
I have obtained other parts from them and the service has been very good but evidently their panel sub-contractors do not have the same attitude to customer service.
I really want to treat my SIV to its new paint job after the major restoration but for the moment primer will have to do.I'll post some photos when the old girl is fully dressed!
regards from la belle France
John

Hi Glen,
The fettling was a quite a bit more than I expected.
The 'gutter'lip on the bonnet line would not line up so I had to cut about 3mm out of the top and weld it back in.Also the roll on the wheeelarch was quite flat compared with the origional and so required building up and reforming in filler.
All this for a panel at the best part of £180.00
Still it's done now and it's the last major part of the jigsaw so hopefully it should be less stressful from now until completion.
Bon soir

Thanks for the updates John, I think you've hit the nail on the head there that it is the sub-contractor, but as you're delaing with the sales outlet it shouldn't be you that suffers: let's hope not too much fettling is required to make a decent job. I don't think they are cheapso one would expect good quality! Cheers. Glen.

Hi all,
Just a quick update on panel situation. It finally arrived 18 weeks and 1 day since order placed.
Trial fit looks OK but as mentioned by other contributors it shall need a bit of fettling to get an acceptable fit.
So onward and upward,I'll fire up the MIG shortly.

Bon soir
