I owned KPH 777C a mk1V Rapier around 1972 in metalic grey with black roof, twin arials on the fins and cortina air vents on the bonnet and wondered if it still exists, i sold it and heard that it had been involved in an accident which made me regret having sold it, i only did because i was given a company vehicle and wasn't using it enough.

At the age of 19 i loved the car and cleaned it inside and out every week and drove it daily, the engine started getting a bit tired so i took the engine out and did the usual bearings, seals, rings etc. but i did a bit of homework on poting etc. and armed with black and decker gave the chambers a good grind and polish then had it skimmed, along with a slight change in cam and a weber carb i transformed the cars performance.

I regularly had well over 100mph and with overdrive on it would sail along motorways at a steady 90mph - those were the days before cameras, but i kept check on lubes etc. and it ran like a sewing machine without any problems- So there it is, is it still going strong or has it gone to the crusher? if you know of it let me know Roy - sales@heritagehandles.co.uk

The DVLA vehicle enquiry shows it as not found.
Get to it here http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/?SKIN=directgov

It might be tucked away in a barn somewhere, or it might have a new reg or that might be bad news
