I expect most of you will be aware that in April the Historic Vehicle cut off goes forward 1 year to include cars made before 1 Jan 1974; which of course affects Rapier's.
I will be putting a bit in C & T for the March issue and will start dealing with enquiries - in my capacity as DVLA Rep for the club, in February. I've had a couple already.
I need to establish from the archives the cut-off chassis number for exemption: this info was obtained from the original factory records some years ago and was used for the current cut-off dates to establish if a vehicle qualified or not.
There is a charge of £20 for non-members, but members can make an enquiry for free by contacting me in writing; via snail mail preferably, but via e-mail if required to fastback-registrar@sunbeamrapier.co.uk
It is a pity that the government have not seen fit to introduce rolling exemption again, but at this stage there is no sign of this happening; just an annual review; which is better than nothing I suppose. G
