Took my starting motor off my 75 Mk3 sceptre last week for repair... The people who are givin it a freshen up reckon that the starter is a Japanese one .....

Has anyone got any Lucas product numbers or part numbers that they could give me coz I'm getting no where with this one!
Cheers.

I've heard that the solenoids might be made by mitsubishi...
their logo should be on the plastic casing of the solenoid.

M35J for inertia type
or
M35J-PE for pre-engaged

These are the part numbers from the 1972 Hunter Range workshop manual WSM 149.
