Interesting article on BAT (bringatrailer.com) regarding a guy that went to a British car show in the US, and came back with a F/b Alpine. The story is good, but the comments are even better. Sad ending for the guy that thought he'd bought it though.

The general concensus in the comments, (you need to scroll down the page to read), is that $1000 is cheap money for a 'qwerky' British classic that looks like a cross between a Plymouth Barracuda and an Opel Kadet.
