Posted - 11 May 2019 : 19:13:15 Does anyone no what type of o/drive is fitted to a 1973 fastback. My car is an untouched 33000 miler and the solenoid is on the nearside of the gearbox and i cant see how you get it out. I know it's a lacock but which type? Steve. |

Posted - 12 May 2019 : 10:43:37 You will need a very thin open end spanner (I think about 19mm) to get to the hexagon where the solenoid sits against the OD casing. With the 'J' type the solenoid simply screws out and you loose very little oil. |

Try and see if you can read the label on it, which will show you which one is fitted. Mine is a 71 and has the D type but they did change to J at some point. |
