Posted - 02 Sep 2021 : 12:56:42 I am looking for a plastic instrument surround and the plastic heater control surround for the dashboard on a fastback rapier. They need to be intact with no cracks or breaks, but the condition of the silver/black is not important. Ideally ones that have never been overpainted. Can anyone help? I can arrange for a courier to collect if needed! Thanks.

Posted - 08 Sep 2021 : 08:54:11 If you are offered one that has been overpainted , do not dismiss it out of hand. This may sound stupid but they can be cleaned. place the part in a large sealed container and then pour in a bottle of Dettol. Leave 24 hours and the paint softens and peels off, plastic is unharmed, Dettol can be strained off and reused for disinfectant or paint stripping purposes again.
Sometimes I think laterally, but then I have to get up!
