Hi,

I hope everyone is keeping well.

As I have a little spare time lately I naturally thought of that never ending list of Rapier jobs.

While under the car I found another: Leaking rear shocks.

I'm looking to upgrade to Spax but unsure of what to get.

The items I can buy are for either a Hunter saloon all models or an estate from '70 onwards.

I know the fastbacks are based on the estate floor plan so what do I get for my '68 car?

Thanks

Mike Hooper

Hi Martin

I went with Spax in the end; I couldn't access the website for a few month. Don't understand what happened with that.

Thanks anyway.

Hi Mike

I have asked my mechanic, who tells me the company who supplied mine are AC Services in Bridgwater.
I believe their number is 01278 663699 but I have not managed to reach anyone.

Fell free to try, they may remember selling some for a Rapier, and let me know if it's a dead end.

Sorry I cant be more helpful

Hi Martin,

If you think Bilsteins are more reliable or do a better job that would be great.

I picked Spax as they were the only ones that popped up when I searched for Hillman Hunter adjustables.

Thanks

I replaced a pair of 1 year old Spax hat had failed with Bilsteins, and finding them so much better.

Pretty sure they were for an Escort mk11, but would be happy to try and find the contact info of the specialist I got them from.

No modification required.

Thanks for that.

Now I'll probably have to wait until after June to get hold of them!

Oh well, back to the gardening.

Keep safe

Hunter saloon will do the trick.
