I have a 1600 block that I am struggling to identify. Cast into the block is an emblem containing the word 'CHROMIOM' and instead of the usual day/month/year date marking, there is just '1980'. Can anyone help with what this might be? When I inherited it with my car it was described as 'lightened and balanced'.

Apologies - yes, crank and pistons present and correct.

If it's just a block I don't understand the lightened and balanced part. Balancing etc only applies to moving parts like crank, rods pistons etc.
